Nectar by the Numbers

With corporate relocation on the rise, it’s time to start thinking about your next move. Moving and finding housing are the two biggest stresses, both of which can be alleviated with proper planning.

A Careerbuilder survey found 44% of people are willing to relocate for the right job.  If you do find that dream job and need to relocate, don’t be afraid to negotiate.

A recent article in The Muse takes a closer look at what you should ask for to help ease the anxiety that comes with a move. Key asks include location scouting trips, packing and moving services and most importantly, temporary housing.

Temporary housing saves you from immediately having to put down a security deposit or having to put a down payment on a house you may not be sure about. Furnished apartments give you the chance to explore an area and really get to know it before deciding where to live.

Once you get approval for temporary housing, the easy decision is choosing a furnished apartment over a hotel.  Furnished apartments are about 50% bigger than a typical hotel room and 30-50% less expensive.

Beyond space and cost are the amenities.  Boutique furnished apartments are often in luxury buildings with a doorman, gym, wifi and fully-stocked, top-notch kitchen.
